Transform Your Smile & Oral Health
Full-arch restoration is a life-changing treatment that provides you with a brand new, fully functioning smile. Your oral surgeon will insert as few as four dental implants, which support a fixed denture. Your new teeth will stay in place at all times and look, feel, and function like natural teeth. This treatment is ideal for patients who are missing many or all of their teeth, or those who are searching for a healthier alternative to traditional dentures.Dr. Robert Lucas, Dr. Garrett Seghi, and Dr. Eric Murnan specialize in replacing missing or failing teeth with implant-based solutions, such as full-arch restoration. When you visit Oral Surgery & Dental Implant Specialists of Cincinnati, our board-certified oral surgeons will design a custom restorative treatment plan to bring health, function, and confidence back to your smile. What Is Full-Arch Restoration?
Full-arch restoration is a type of oral and maxillofacial surgery treatment that involves restoring an entire arch of teeth with an implant-supported prosthesis. This treatment is also known as Teeth-in-a-Day because only one surgical appointment is necessary, allowing you to receive a new smile in just one day.
During the procedure, your oral surgeon will insert dental implants into your jaw. The implant post acts just like a natural tooth root, preventing bone loss and preserving facial structure. As few as four dental implants are needed to support a full arch of new teeth, and you can receive an implant-supported denture in one or both arches. Every prosthesis is custom-made to feel comfortable and look natural in your mouth.
Full Mouth Dental Implants or Dentures?
There are several options to consider when replacing missing teeth, including traditional dentures and dental implants. Dentures do not require a surgical procedure and they are often more cost-effective upfront. However, dentures do not fuse to the jaw bone like dental implants. Without this fusion, the jaw bone does not receive the stimulation it needs and deteriorates over time. The treatment to reverse bone loss can be costly and extensive, paired with the cost of having to replace dentures as often as every 5 years for wear and tear. Although they may seem like a cheaper option upfront, removable dentures can add up and do not provide the same oral health benefits as dental implants.
Full-arch restoration, however, provides you with a long-term tooth replacement solution that is healthy and functional. Unlike removable dentures, an implant-supported denture remains in your mouth at all times. Dental implants are strong and allow you to enjoy your favorite foods again without worrying about removable or uncomfortable oral appliances. No special care, dental adhesives, or cleaning products are necessary.
The Benefits of Full-Arch Restoration
Full-arch restoration with dental implants offers numerous benefits over traditional dentures, including:
Prevent jaw bone loss
No dietary restrictions
No uncomfortable or removable parts
Only one surgical visit is necessary
Brush and floss your prosthesis just like natural teeth
Your new teeth are specially designed to look natural and fit your mouth
Bone grafting is typically not necessary for full-arch replacements, even if bone loss has occurred
Smile and speak with confidence again!
Many patients who wear dentures find them to be an inconvenience. It can be a hassle to take out your teeth during meals and brushing, and dentures can irritate the gums and inside of the cheeks if they are not professionally fitted. If you currently wear dentures and are ready to switch to a healthier, more convenient solution, contact our practice to see if full-arch restoration is right for you.

Full-Arch Restoration Procedure
During the consultation, you will meet with one of our oral and maxillofacial surgeons. We will take 3D scans of your mouth and create a custom treatment plan to restore your smile. Using the latest imaging technology, our experts can map out every detail of your procedure to increase surgical accuracy and achieve predictable results. We will also discuss your options for anesthesia and help you choose the right type for your procedure.
On the day of your procedure, we will administer the chosen form of anesthesia. Once it has taken effect, your surgeon will extract any remaining teeth in the dental arch and insert the dental implants. A temporary prosthesis will be attached to the implants, which you will wear during the healing period. The implants will fuse with the jaw bone, which can take several months. Once you have fully healed, your restorative dentist will attach the final prosthesis.
